About the Role

An established organisation in Papua New Guinea GLORY GROUP OF COMPANIES is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior IT Technician to oversee the effective operation of its information technology systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure, providing advanced technical support, and assisting with the planning and implementation of IT projects across the organisation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and computer systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues
• Provide technical support to staff and users, addressing IT-related queries and system problems
• Assist in planning and implementing IT projects such as system upgrades and installations
• Monitor system performance and ensure data security and integrity
• Develop and implement IT policies and best practice guidelines
• Conduct regular system audits and maintenance checks
• Manage relationships with IT vendors and contractors
• Train, guide, and mentor junior IT staff

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Several years of proven experience in a similar IT role
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT security
• Proficiency in server and network management
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
• Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ will be an advantage

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based in the National Capital District. However, occasional travel to other locations may be required depending on operational needs. The role may also require work outside normal business hours for system maintenance, upgrades, and critical IT support.
