About the Opportunity
The Civil and Identity Registry (CIR) is seeking five Registration Officers to strengthen birth registration services for children aged 0–5 in selected hospitals and rural health facilities. Officers will work with CIR and health staff to collect, verify, process, and support the timely issuance of birth certificates while protecting personal information.
Job Description
- Receive and process birth registration applications for children aged 0–5 born in hospitals and rural health facilities.
- Check forms, supporting documents, witness details, and applicant information for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter and update birth registration records in the CIR system.
- Support timely processing and issuance of birth certificates at assigned health facilities.
- Conduct data-quality checks, reconcile paper and system records, and resolve Return-to-Data-Entry items.
- Prepare monthly activity and statistical reports and provide quarterly performance information as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, integrity, and security of all civil and identity information.
- Promote awareness of timely birth registration among parents, caregivers, and health workers.
- Perform other reasonable CRVS, data-entry, or issuance duties assigned by authorized CIR management.
Selection Criteria & Requirements
- Education: Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma from a recognized University or College (IT fields will be an advantage).
- Experience: Experience in registration, data entry, records management, or a related public-service role is desirable.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and respect for confidentiality.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with CIR officers, health staff, parents, and communities as part of a team.
- Ability to work under supervision, meet processing timelines, and submit accurate reports.
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of the province/location for which they apply.
